Hydrangea ‘Hot chocolate’
Hydrangea Aspera ‘Hot Chocolate’ is a summer flowering shrub with dark brown leaves. It gets is name for its chocolate brown coloured lanceolate leaves that sprout in the spring. The under leaves is a nice burgundy colour and has a fuzzy texture. Will grow to 2-3m high and spread roughly 2m. Will flower from. Late June to late august. Is best in partial shade to shade as in hot weather the flowers can get sunburnt if in direct sunlight. Best to plant in sheltered area so it’s not exposed to bad winds. In the winter the plant dies back to just sticks and will start to come back in March
Care instructions
1.water the plant throughly before planting it and let the water drain away.
2.dig a hole twice as deep & as wide as the container.
3. Can mix in some gravel at the base to improve drainage.
