Mahonia
Leather mahonia is planted as hedge. Its evergreen leaves, edges with spines, can deter outsiders from intruding. Has a beautiful cluster of bright yellow pointy flowers. Will grow to 50-400cm tall and will spread 91-244cm wide. Can be planted in full sun, partial shade & full shade. Will tolerate-18 in the winter. This plant is also resistance to almost all pests & diseases.
Care instructions
Mahonia plant is considered to be drought tolerant once established. Waterlogged soil can lead to root rot. So the best way to avoid this is to let the soil dry out between watering. You will see signs if the plant needs watering by wilting, leaf loss & yellowing of t he leaves.
You can feed the plant with fertilizer once a year but make sure when you do this you do not get it on the trunk as this avoids the plant from burning.
They are super easy plant to take care off.
